  8. First, I want to say thank you to all the designers. None of them had to do this, but they did it for us. I would like to make a suggestion tho. Maybe Each month the boards can start at different times, instead of always starting at Midnight each month. That way the boards aren't only catering to certain time zones. Not everyone can sit up all night waiting & have real lives that need attending to & must sleep at a somewhat decent time. For those people, they will never get a chance of getting the gifts, because even if you're up early in the morning most are already gone. Maybe starting them at different times each round will give everyone a fair chance each month. I've seen this being said in a lot of the groups today as well. You can never satisfy everyone, obviously, but at least this would make it a little more fair to everyone across the globe & not only certain areas. Hopefully will be strongly considered. Thank you again, all the gifts looked awesome!

    1. What a nice idea! I totally agree with you on the time zones issue. Actually I don't get the whole thing of "starting at midnight" AT ALL. For one-day things like FLF or 30L Saturday... maybe. But I'm definitely in bed by midnight SLT (5 am IRL) but even if my time zone didn't suck, I would think twice before staying up till midnight just to get in an event (which I probably wouldn't leave until like 1 am!)

  11. I have found that is not true and many require you be a member of the group. And in that case I kinda think it defeats what I perceived to be the spirit of the event. The traffic to all stores has been terrific.Great idea. Thanks to those that gave out gifts when the boards broke.Without having to be a group member.

None of the groups cost anything and [we're closed] even gave away free group membership for the day. Having to join the group to grab the item and then leave it if you want is nothing but a small inconvenience if you choose not to stay in the group.

    1. Thank you for all the lovely gifts. I think people wouldn't leave groups as quickly if Linden Labs allowed us a larger number of groups. It would be nice...

  16. First off, a big thanks for organizing this. I've picked up a lot of the gifts and they're very nice quality from some of the best names in SL. I applaud the creators for stepping up when the MM boards cratered and giving away the items as gifts. A LOT of goodwill generated there I'm sure from what I saw of the crowds at each location! A couple of things I'm seeing though:

    - I have to agree with Narkissa, I think the idea of starting at the same time on the same day every month tends to cater to one group or timezone. Also the targets from what I'm seeing are way too low. 175 slaps is going to be filled in an hour or two at some of these stores. So.... you've made 175 people happy in an hour and disappointed the next 600 that aren't going to be able to get there in time.

    - As far as giving away the gifts this time went, again huge kudos to the creators. The one problem though is a few of the stores are using a giver script to give out the item. Unfortunately, the traffic and lag overwhelms them and they're becoming non-responsive to clicks *a lot*. This leads to a bunch of people standing around in the store clicking over and over again on a sign that doesn't work causing frustration and confusion. Maybe a better move in the future would be to just set the item for sale like most of the stores did. I had no problems with any of those whatsoever.

Just a couple of suggestions that might help out!
